But our critical human rights and democracy work needs much more financial support to be truly effective and help create concrete, sustainable improvements in human lives. 

On one hand, we need financial support for advocacy programs and events, which can range from prestigious congressional briefings to global art exhibitions, university programs, expert panelist programs, conference presentations, and support for the efforts of accomplished human rights advocates. 

On the other hand, a great deal of our work requires time. Our dedicated Board, Core Team, Advisory Board members, volunteers and Human Rights Fellows put hundreds of hours towards the JINA Alliance mission. They conduct research, sustain congressional relations, draft letters for human rights campaigns, develop multifaceted programs, reach out to government officials, and constantly seek new tools and networks to strengthen our ability to educate about human rights and democracy around the world. None of these valuable contributors are employees of JINA Alliance. JINA Alliance is proud to showcase the strength of its community. We only pay for professional services to the extent they are needed for a project (for example, attorney's fees for representing a refugee in court).

JINA Alliance does not use any portion of donated funds for employee payment, gifts or personal benefits. Donations received are use entirely for supporting the expenses affiliated with our human rights, democracy and global security advocacy. 

In addition, we welcome donations that donors would like to reserve for issue- or event-specific purposes. In such cases, we work closely with donors to ensure their objectives are reflected in our work.
